i'm not sure how much coverage this is getting in the rest of the world, but the big thing in the news in Australia at the moment is the bushfires in and near Victoria. it's terrible. the death count is 130+ (and counting), with many more missing. it's worse than the Ash Wednesday fires. men, women, famous people, children, babies, not to mention pets and wildlife. over 750 homes have been lost. so many people just
