Pet/Dog Insurance? :)?

I have a puppy and I want to get him pet insurance...
Most people were saying I don't need it but my friend just had to drop thousands of dollars on surgery on her dog who blew out her knee...

I am financially prepared for an accident like that to happen but I think it would help if I had insurance...

So do you use insurance? If so what do you use and why do you like it?
