Can anyone point me towards a good dog

I'm trying to find an affordable insurance for my dog. She seems to get sick a lot and getting insurance is a better option than having to pay these huge vet bills! Does anyone currently have pet insurance? Is there any company's you would suggest? Any particular policy just for sickly dogs that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Has any one ever actully been in a situtuation where they have said "well thank god we had pet insurance otherwise we would not have been able to save our dog/cat"? I'm just not sure I trust it.
If you need insurance because you may not have the money at the time of the incident how can it really help....You still have to pay with your own money and then be reinbursed, right?
